What we do
We collect a short set of details about your move — postcodes, date, property size, contact details — and match you with up to five removalist companies in our network who service that route. The companies then send you tailored quotes (usually within the hour during business hours). You compare them side-by-side, pick the one you like, and book directly with them. There are no middleman fees and no obligation to book.
Who's in our network
Our preferred-partner network is built around companies that hold:
- Current AFRA (Australian Furniture Removers Association) accreditation, or equivalent industry membership
- Valid public liability insurance
- Valid goods-in-transit insurance
- A verified Australian Business Number and a real, contactable office
- A track record of completed interstate moves with documented customer feedback
Companies that fail to maintain these standards — or that generate consistent customer complaints — are removed from the network.
Why we're free for movers
RemovalistAU never charges customers. The removalist companies in our network pay us a referral fee when they win a job through the platform. That model keeps the comparison honest: we have no reason to push you toward a particular company, because we earn the same amount regardless of who you choose.
Coverage
We cover every Australian state and territory: NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, NT and ACT, including all major metro centres and most regional towns. Backloading routes between capital cities run almost daily, which is how we can often deliver a five-quote shortlist within an hour even for long-distance moves.
Editorial independence
The guides, glossary, calculators and route pages on this site are written and maintained independently of the companies we partner with. We publish what we believe is genuinely useful for anyone planning an interstate move in Australia — including topics like backloading economics and biosecurity rules that can save you money or avoid border delays.
